Eels – Trouble with Dreams (live). I wanted the album version but couldn't find it online. Nevermind. It's one of those happy-sad songs that one can never get tired of.

Webjay station tag

Beirut – Postcards from Italy. My good friends Elephant Parade (see Mix #1) supported them on a recent New York gig, and aren't they great fun?

Thievery Corporation – Lebanese Blonde. I wanted to nail the Beirut-Lebanon connection. Only later was I reminded that I know this song fron the "Garden State" soundtrack. Another track from there has coincidentally popped up later in the mix

Morrissey – I Like You. "Because you're not right in the head, and nor am I. And this is why". I admit, with all my love to this song, it's mainly here because it segues great into the Voxtrot track coming up.

Voxtrot – Start of Something. An Austin Texas band sounding like early Smiths here. Thanks for Deddy S for getting me to listen to them.

Darky – Slipping Away. The magic of MySpace. I've never heard of Efrat Darky (aka Darky) before I stumbled upon her MySpace page (via Quami) and discoverd – amidst way too many spelling errors, a couple of amazing songs. I'll have her on Mix #3 as well, stay tuned.

Naama Hillman – Falling. Inbal told me about her, so I lookded her up and found this. Check her out. If you live in Brighton England you can see her live in a couple of days

Anat Damon – Falling. It is through the sheer power of karma that tracks 8 and 9 have the same title. Anat Damon should be filed under "most likely to succeed". Her debut album was gorgeous. And you know what the kicker is? That I actually know her. If I were living in Kansas I would have probably been a fan of hers and not sitting next to her in PTA meetings. See her live tomorrow (Saturday) in Cafe Bialik in Tel Aviv

Donnie Darko (theme). It just fuses perfectly into the next track, through it's waltz tempo, and I originally wanted Darko to follow Darky, but it just didn't sit right musically. Did you know, abroad visitors, that Donnie Darko, one of the most important movies of recent years, has never been released in Israel

Jon Brion – Here we Go. One of my favorite movie composers with a song from Paul Thomas Anderson's Punch Drunk Love

The Polyphonic Spree – Tim DeLaughter's amusing ensemble with the title track off the movie Thumbsucker, which you should really see if you haven't

The Kids These Days – The Captain. A canadian band I found online, but I just can't remember through where

Frou Frou – Let Go. From the "Garden State" soundtrack

Katamine – Junior Buddha. Another Israeli band bound for greatness. This is from their album "Lag" which is beautiful. They have a new album out that I haven't heard yet

Bright Eyes – Lua. I must admit, I don't get most of Conor Oberst's music, but those songs I do like, I like a lot

Thom Yorke – Analyse. a great melancholic tune, that fuses perfectly into the next one…

Thomas Newman – Theme from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Love Thomas Newman's film scores. I think I'll have a track from Jarhead in mix #3. See you there.
